Who We Are
A founder’s mission, not a product pitch
My family and I have navigated the Indian legal system as litigants for decades — including suits that stretch across generations. I have heard the ordeals of families bound to multi-generational litigation, and watched cases begun by one generation still dragging on, unresolved, into the next. I know first-hand what it feels like from that side of the bench — the uncertainty, the cost, and the sense that the process is opaque at every step.
I am also a technologist. For nearly two decades I have built and delivered large-scale technology transformations for enterprises and governments, solving hard problems with technology. And for just as long, one question kept returning to me: why can this not be done for India’s justice system?
That question became the focus of my doctoral research. The deeper I went, the clearer it became that the problem is not just mine — there are millions like me, litigants who are struggling. And when I looked closer, I realized it doesn’t stop with litigants: it weighs just as heavily on lawyers and advocates too — especially those who are not affluent, who lack access to the expensive tools and large platforms built for big firms and enterprises.
So I set out to build something that serves both sides — the litigant trying to understand their own case, and the advocate who deserves powerful yet affordable tools. That is why Sovereign Legal Intelligence India is being built as a Digital Public Good, not another product locked behind enterprise pricing. It is, at heart, a mission to accelerate AI for India’s legal system — to make justice faster, clearer and within reach for everyone.
SLI is built on a foundation of over 14 million Indian court cases and growing, drawn from official public court records and refined through a proprietary AI intelligence layer. Every answer is grounded in that authoritative material, explainable, and traceable to its source — because in law, an answer you cannot verify is worthless.
Every insight rests on authoritative court records
Reasoning you can follow, not a black box
Every conclusion links back to its source

Founder & Creator
Dr. Abhishek Katta is a digital-transformation leader and AI-implementation expert who brings a rare combination of enterprise-scale execution and evidence-based academic research to complex problems. With 20+ years architecting ICT — and now AI — transformations across 13+ countries, he advises large multinational enterprises and government organizations on the intersection of cloud, AI, and digital workplace technologies. He pairs that with a CCIE and a Doctorate focused on how AI/ML can improve India’s judicial system; his research on AI for access to justice has been featured in the Indian press. Sovereign Legal Intelligence India is the practical realization of that work.
Sovereign Legal Intelligence India is currently in private beta, invite-only, as we validate it carefully with early litigants and advocates. To request access or reach the founder directly, write to us.
